Checklist
What to bring to a consultation
ID, the papers you have been given, names of any other lawyers you have spoken to, and two or three sentences about the outcome you want.
The first conversation in this office is twenty to thirty minutes, free of charge, in English or Spanish. It works best when you arrive with a small stack of things in your hand. The list below covers what to bring, no matter what kind of case it is.
Identification and basic information
- A government-issued photo ID (driver license, state ID, passport, matrícula consular).
- A piece of paper with your full legal name, date of birth, current address, and best phone number to reach you.
- The names and birth dates of any family members directly involved in the matter (a spouse in a divorce, the children in a custody case, the person who was arrested in a criminal matter).
Every paper you have been given
Bring the originals if you have them; otherwise bring clear photos on your phone. Court papers, letters from insurance companies, notices from USCIS, jail booking sheets, police reports, hospital discharge papers, any contract you signed - all of it. We will look at it together.
Other lawyers you have spoken to
Write down the name of every lawyer you have called or met with about this matter, even briefly. We have to run a conflict check, and that runs faster if we already have the names.
What you want the outcome to look like
Two or three sentences. Not a legal opinion - just the practical outcome you want. "I want my dad out of jail before Thanksgiving." "I want primary custody and the house." "I want my green card so I can travel to see my mother." That sentence tells the lawyer what the case is really about.
Call (956) 317-1167 to schedule, or send a WhatsApp to (956) 500-1371. Walk-ins are accepted when the schedule allows.
