Bilingual Paralegal - Rio Grande City

Location: Rio Grande City Office

Type: Paralegal

Posted: April 1, 2026

About the role

The Law Office of J.M. Chema Garza is hiring a bilingual paralegal for the Rio Grande City office. The role exists because the firm has grown enough that the attorney can no longer personally handle every intake, filing, and document request and still appear in court the same week. The paralegal is the operational backbone that keeps that promise possible.

You will support the attorney on personal-injury, criminal-defense, family-law, and immigration files. The work includes bilingual intake calls; document collection and organization; preparation and filing of state-court pleadings in Starr, Hidalgo, and Cameron Counties (229th, 381st, County Court at Law, and County Courts at Law in Edinburg); USCIS submissions; medical-records ordering for injury cases; deposition and hearing preparation; and ongoing client communication in English and Spanish.

This is a full-time, in-office role at the Britton Avenue office in Rio Grande City. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes paid health benefits, paid time off, and continuing-education support. There is real room to grow into a senior paralegal or office-manager role over time.

Requirements

Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent practical experience.

Full bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (Mexican Spanish preferred), spoken and written. The role requires drafting client correspondence in both languages.

Comfort with Texas e-filing systems (eFileTexas), USCIS online filing, and case-management software (Clio, MyCase, or similar).

Two or more years of paralegal experience preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Excellent attention to detail, calm under pressure, and a genuine client-service mindset.
